    NBC STAND-UP FOR DIVERSITY ALUMS LAND NBC PILOTS!
    RonFunchesActor-comedian Ron Funches has been added to the NBC/WBTV comedy pilot “Undateable”!
    “Undateable”, about a group of date-challenged friends whose lives are forever altered when a more confident character (Chris D’Elia) enters their world. Funches plays Shelly, an odd, shy musician member of the group whose appeal to women comes to life when he’s performing. He also is a writer for The Kroll Show.

    EricAndreEric Andre Cast in Greg Daniels’s NBC Pilot
    Eric Andre, star of ABC’s now-canceled Don’t Trust the B and Adult Swim’s The Eric Andre Show, has a booked a regular role on another network sitcom. Deadline reports that Andre has been cast as one of the lead characters in an untitled NBC pilot produced by The Office/Parks and Rec/King of the Hill mastermind Greg Daniels and created by Office writer Robert Padnick.

The Short Cuts Festival is much more than presenting shorts, our goal is to display and celebrate diversity in entertainment. This is the ultimate showcase for aspiring writers, directors, actors, TV creators and filmmakers from all over the country. It provides creative individuals an opportunity to get their materials in front of key decisions makers from the entire NBCUniversal family as well as agents, managers, producers, and other industry players. In addition to meeting television and feature film executives from NBCUniversal, finalist are presented with a pilot script commitment from Universal Television and much more.

  • Stand Up for Diversity

    standup_for_diversity_300-thumb-autox60-1055In its tenth consecutive year, NBC is proud to present another groundbreaking year of Stand-Up for Diversity. Through this initiative comedians of diverse backgrounds have been launched to new career milestones. Each year NBC selects 3-5 cities across the country and holds both auditions and live showcases of the top diverse talent from that area. At the end of the search a handful of comedians are brought back to Los Angeles to showcase for key industry players at NBC Universal and industry-wide. Many of the comics from last year’s Best of Stand-Up for Diversity showcase signed with top Hollywood agents and met with the entertainment industry’s leading casting directors and executives.

  • Writer’s On the Verge

    WOTV_header-thumb-autox60-1019Writers on the Verge is a 10-week program focused on polishing writers and readying them for a staff writer position on a television series. We are looking for writers who are “almost there,” but need that final bit of preparation with their writing and personal presentation skills. We particularly encourage writers of diverse backgrounds to apply.
